Sam Zawadi is an actor, director and the founder of To The Moon. He brings first-hand experience of auditioning, self-taping and working on set, alongside ongoing training with Australian and international coaches. As a director, he brings an understanding of performance from both sides of the lens: what feels truthful to the actor, and what ultimately reads on screen.

Scene Work is a two-week workshop designed to give actors the time and space to properly explore a scene with another actor, first through rehearsal, direction and coaching, then in front of the camera.

In Week One, we get the scenes up on their feet. Working with your scene partner, we’ll explore the text, relationship, circumstances and choices within the scene, with direction and coaching throughout. The focus is on exploration, responding to direction and allowing the scene to develop.

In Week Two, we’ll revisit what we discovered in rehearsal, make adjustments for the frame and work through takes with direction. We will then take the work to camera, where each actor will be filmed simultaneously in their own shots.
